THERMODRAIN Gratings are designed as drainage trench covers and flooring solutions in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure applications, including stormwater trenches, plant walkways, basement car parks, swimming pool drainage, cable trenches, platforms, and other areas requiring open-grid support with high flow capacity. They are ideal wherever load-bearing grating with corrosion resistance is needed.

Frequently Asked Qeustions?
-
1) What are THERMODRAIN Gratings used for?
-
2) What material is used for THERMODRAIN Gratings?THERMODRAIN Gratings are made from Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP), also referred to as composite or GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic). This material consists of glass fibers embedded in a polymer resin matrix, creating a strong, corrosion-resistant, and weather-resistant structure. These gratings are self-pigmented and UV stabilized, and many are molded as one-piece, jointless constructions for extra strength and durability.
-
3) How durable are THERMODRAIN Gratings?
-
THERMODRAIN FRP Gratings are engineered for high durability even under harsh environmental conditions:
- High impact resistance — the material flexes rather than cracks under load.
- Corrosion resistance — unaffected by chemicals, sewage water, salt, and moisture.
- UV stabilized — resists degradation from sun exposure.
- Lightweight but strong — high strength-to-weight ratio simplifies handling and installation without compromising load capacity
-
4) How do THERMODRAIN Gratings compare with traditional cast iron gratings?
-
Compared with cast iron:
- Corrosion resistance : FRP is inherently corrosion-resistant and will not rust, whereas cast iron eventually corrodes in harsh wet environments.
- Weight & Handling : Thermodrain FRP gratings are significantly lighter, reducing installation labor and transport costs.
- Safety : FRP offers electrical insulation — useful around live equipment — and typically has anti-slip surfaces.
- Maintenance : FRP requires minimal maintenance compared to metal gratings that need coatings to prevent rust.
- Durability : Cast iron can be strong under compressive loads, but in corrosive settings FRP often outlasts metal with less degradation
-
5) What safety features do Thermodrain Gratings offer?THERMODRAIN Gratings often include anti-slip surfaces to help prevent slips and falls, even when wet (especially in industrial or marine environments). Additionally, the non-conductive nature of FRP enhances electrical safety in areas where electrical conductivity could be a risk.
